Food and Nutrition

Does your child have a food allergy? Please fill out a new Diet Modification Form every year (or if there’s a medical change), and give it to the Front Office at your child’s school.

Our school system participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), which is a federally-assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential childcare institutions. NSLP provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost, or free breakfast and lunch to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.

All of our schools participate in the Community Eligible Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch Program which allows all students to eat breakfast and lunch at no charge to the student or families.

 Meal Prices

• Additional student lunch $2.90

• Additional student breakfast $1.25

Adult breakfast $3.00

• Adult lunch $4.75

Create an online lunch system account to deposit money electronically, check balances, sign up for email notification of low balances, etc. through our partner K12PaymentCenter. Their website is https://www.k12paymentcenter.comYou must know your student’s 10 digits ID number to get started.

Sharing information with Medicaid/State Children’s Health Insurance Program: If your children get free or reduced-price school meals, they may also be able to get free or low-cost health insurance through Medicaid or the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).

We care about cleanliness in our schools, and especially in our cafeterias and kitchens. That’s why we post our Health Department inspection reports for everyone to see.

Wellness Policy: Our LWCS Wellness Policy includes information related to our School Meals.
